Learn about Human Trafficking in this 1 hour CE course.
- Know the definition of human trafficking, its different forms, the mechanisms by which trafficking occurs, as well as vulnerabilities for trafficking.
- Identify the health impacts of trafficking, including physical, social, and psychological signs & symptoms.
- Understand the importance of a patient- and trauma-centered approach to trafficking.
- Have an increased awareness of key indicators of present or previous victimization after candid interviews with victims directly and the commonalities in their interviews.
- Describe the clinical settings where trafficking victims are encountered. Determine the challenges and barriers faced by healthcare providers and trafficking victims in human trafficking situations.
- Deploy screening tools for suspected trafficking.
- Develop strategies for addressing suspected victims and keeping oneself, staff, and patients safe.
- Employ strategies and resources for response to suspected trafficking and follow-up
